Kultowe modele HTC: Touch Diamond
Czas na kolejną odsłonę naszego cyklu przybliżającego sylwetki znanych smartfonów firmy HTC. Kilka dni temu zajęliśmy się telefonem HTC Wizard, teraz nadszedł moment na cofnięcie się w czasie do maja 2008 roku. Właśnie wtedy na rynku pojawił się szokujący swoim wyglądem telefon HTC Touch Diamond.
Powrót do przeszłości: kultowe smartfony HTC
HTC Touch Diamond, znany także jako HTC Diamond oraz HTC P3700, to smartfon, który w dniu premiery opierał się na systemie Windows Mobile w wersji 6.1. W chwili wprowadzenia na rynek był pierwszym urządzeniem tajwańskiego producenta, które wyposażone zostało w nakładkę TouchFLO 3D – ulepszoną wersję cieszącej się sporym uznaniem TouchFLO.
Telefon sprzedawano zarówno pod marką HTC, jak i z brandowaniem operatorów. W sieci T-Mobile Diamond nosił oznaczenie MDA Compact IV, a w O2 klienci kupowali go jako XDA Diamond.
Sprzęt pojawił się po raz pierwszy w maju 2008 roku w Hongkongu, kilka tygodni później trafił do ofert operatorów z całej Europy, a we wrześniu również do amerykańskiej sieci Sprint.
HTC Desire: Super LCD vs AMOLED
Diamond wyposażony był w ekran dotykowy o przekątnej 2,8 cala, pracujący w rozdzielczości 480 x 640 pikseli. We wnętrzu dziecka HTC ukryto dość szybki jak na owe czasy procesor Qualcomm MSM7201A o taktowaniu 528 MHz, aparat z matrycą 3,2 Mpix, a także 192 MB pamięci RAM oraz aż 4 GB pamięci wewnętrznej. Telefon o wymiarach 102 x 51 x 11,5 mm umożliwiał łączność ze światem za pomocą WiFi oraz Bluetootha. Dodatkowo użytkownicy korzystać mogli z modułu GPS.
Komórka została bardzo dobrze przyjęta przez użytkowników. O Diamondzie było głośno od chwili premiery nie tylko dlatego, że wyposażono go w interfejs TouchFLO 3D. Telefon po prostu rzucał się w oczy. Wszystko dzięki niekonwencjonalnej obudowie przypominającej szlifowany diament. W ciągu pierwszych sześciu tygodni od rozpoczęcia sprzedaży HTC Diamond trafił do miliona szczęśliwych nabywców.
Ogromny sukces telefonu bardzo pozytywnie wpłynął na rozwój tajwańskiej firmy. Sukces sprzedażowy spowodował znaczny wzrost prognoz sprzedażowych koncernu HTC. Pierwotnie w 2008 roku producent oczekiwał sprzedaży około 2 milionów egzemplarzy swoich telefonów. Zaraz po wprowadzeniu Diamonda przewidywania te wzrosły jednak do 3 milionów.
HTC Touch Diamond do dziś cieszy się ogromnym powodzeniem wśród fanów HTC i platformy Windows Mobile. Liczne modyfikacje oprogramowania sprawiły, że komórka zdecydowanie górowała nad większością smartfonów dostępnych w 2008 roku. Mimo upływu ponad 2 lat od daty premiery wiele egzemplarzy Diamonda używanych jest do dziś.

Posiadam Touch Pro, jest to świetny telefon, po wgraniu windowsa 6.5.3 z xda oraz sense 2.1 zasuwa jak przecinak, przy czym jednocześniei nterfejs jest dużo ładniejszy od standardowego touch flo 3d, smartphone posiada wspaniały ekran, stylową obudowę, porównywałem go do diamonda kolegi, tp ma więcej ramu, dzięki czemu jest wydajniejszy(ram przydatny ze względu na oczojebne, i jednocześnie ramożerne nakładki jak sense 2.1/2.5), pojemniejszą baterię oraz lampę flash do aparatu, minusami jak dla mnie są : brak wyjścia jack 3.5 (zrozumiałe, bo to w końcu telefon biznesowy), po roku trzeba naciskać coraz mocniej przycisk DEL i chyba tyle
